Edgar is the former Vice-President of Private Brands for Ahold USA and Director of European Sourcing for Royal Ahold. He is a Partner in The Partnering Group, consulting with both manufacturers and retailers in Europe and globally on private brand management, category leadership, customer/joint business planning and supplier negotiations. He is recognized throughout Europe as the co-host of PLMA Live! EU which is broadcast online in five languages. Edgar has a Master’s degree in Business Economics at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, with a Major in Marketing.

Tom Stephens

Tom Stephens founded Brand Strategy Consultants in 1994 after serving as Executive Vice President of Presidents Choice International for Loblaw. Prior to moving to Canada, Tom had spent 19 years with Woolworths Ltd. in South Africa. Tom has consulted with retailers and manufacturers on six continents in retail, private brand manufacturing, food brokerage, advertising, television production, and store and package design. Tom has taught Private Brand strategy for the past 16 years at St. Joseph’s University, Philadelphia, as well as at Nyenrode Business University in Holland, and Jia Tong University in Shanghai. He was a 2018 inductee to the Private Label Hall of Fame.

Jim Wisner

North America
President, Wisner Marketing Group, Inc.

Jim Wisner was a Vice-president at Jewel Food Stores, Shaw’s, and Topco Associates before starting the Wisner Marketing Group in 1999. Wisner Marketing has developed dozens of industry-wide research and education programs including Center Store Renewal, Supply Chain Optimization for Specialty Foods, Multicultural Marketing, Ask PLMA, and others. He is currently developing the first comprehensive approach to Private Brand Category Management with the Food Marketing Institute (FMI). Jim is has presented on private brands strategies on six continents. He has served as adjunct faculty in the PLMA Private Label Executive Education Programs in the U.S. and China. Jim is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and earned his MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Marketing Impact Group Pty. Ltd, is a specialized consultancy supporting clients in achieving success in eCommerce, on the Amazon platform, and in the development and best practice management of Private Brand initiatives. In the latter role, Bill serves as General Manager of PLMA Australia/New Zealand (Private Label Manufacturer’s Association), delivering record membership growth whilst driving unprecedented levels of retailer engagement to support optimal growth of the Private Brand sector in Australasia. Bill was previously with a number of food manufacturing firms in the Asia-Pacific market including Kraft Foods, Simplot, Salad Fresh, Ross cosmetics, Sara Lee, and Mainland Dairies. He has a degree in Marketing from Monash University.
